I was lucky to be born into a family of Christian grandparents who shared wonderful stories of their faith! I loved Jesus from the time I could talk. But even in a so-called Christian home, the image of God can be confusing at times. By the time I got to college, I often feared that God would beat me or kill me if I didn't do what He wanted, so my relationship with Him was often privately strained. Twenty years ago, my husband and I decided to scrape the table clean and decide for ourselves what we believed. As we put the pieces of the puzzle back together, we were thrilled to discover many loving atributes of our Creator. Through the years our greatest passion together has been to find innovative ways to worship and share Jesus with others. My husband enjoys praising God through the keyboard and I have done this through writing and leading drama that explains the character of God. In the fall of 2007, we both encountered God on an even deeper level at The Good News Tour in Portland Oregon. That weekend changed my life because I discovered that the Father is just like Jesus. I got up early the next morning and looked out at the dawn with tears streaming down my face, and I asked God, "Are You really this kind and this loving?" Since then I have had a smile on my face every day as I walk with our wonderful and gracious God! |
